Lawrence Hildebrant passed away Friday, July 24, 2026 at home at the age of 90 years.

The son of the late Juanita (Bennett) and Leonard Hildebrant, he was born May 11, 1936, in Owosso, MI. He married Sylvia Bixby on May 21, 1955, his wife of 68 years until her death in 2023.

He was a current member of Journey of Grace Church of the Nazarene after the closing of Swan Valley Church of the Nazarene, where he faithfully attended for over 50 years.

He retired from General Motors after 30 years in 1987. His hobbies included woodworking, knitting, plastic canvas crafts, and many more.

Surviving are his nine children and their spouses, daughter-in-law Kathy Hildebrant; Joe and Vicky Hildebrant; Paul and Connie Hildebrant; Tim Hildebrant; Estella Tyler; Mark Hildebrant; Sylvia and Randy Rowell; Mary Poling; Larry and Lori Hildebrant; Pat Hildebrant; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, two brothers, and one sister-in-law.

He was predeceased by a son, Walter Hildebrant; two sons-in-law, John Poling and Richard Tyler; a daughter-in-law, Beatrice Hildebrant; parents, one sister, and three brothers and their spouses.

In keeping with Lawrence's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Journey of Grace Church of the Nazarene, 1278 S Center Rd, Saginaw, MI 48638. Family will receive guests beginning at 10:00am until the time of the service. Officiating will be Rev. Sharon Norman.
