Hemlock, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Hampton Manor of Merrill, with her family at her side. Age 81 years.

The daughter of the late Melvin E. and Marie A. (Krenzke) Tessin, Laurie was born on June 21, 1943, in Saginaw, Michigan. She graduated from Hemlock High School, then continued her education at Delta College where she obtained her Associate’s Degree in Interior Design. Laurie married Larry W. Zeitler on October 17, 1964. He preceded her in death on September 18, 2018. Laurie was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Hemlock. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, including gardening, crafting, and painting. Laurie also enjoyed traveling and camping. Above all, Laurie cherished the time spent with her family and loved ones.

Surviving are her daughter and sons, Amy Zeitler, Ronald (Robin) Zeitler, Daniel (Mary) Zeitler; grandchildren, Megan (Mitchell) Grewer, Melissa Bartlett, Mariah (Kyle) Malone, Evan (Melanie) Zeitler, Benjamin Zeitler, Anthony Zeitler; great-grandchildren, Magnus, Leona, Maeve, Lucian Grewer, and Atlas Zeitler; brother, Terry Tessin; brother-in-law, Ray Zeitler. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and loved ones. Besides her husband and her parents; Laurie was preceded in death by her brother, Mark Tessin; father and mother-in-law, Fred and Leona Zeitler; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bernard (Betty) Zeitler, Wayne (Donna) Zeitler, Clarence (Darlene) Zeitler, Donald (Mary Lou) Zeitler, Lorraine (Bill) Sholtz, Lois (Louis) Maquet.

Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 23, 2024, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 2461 N. Raucholz Rd, Hemlock, MI 48626. Rev. Dr. William L. Morris will officiate with burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 201 N. Miller Rd, Saginaw, MI 48609, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Monday at the church.
