Sauer, Larrie Walter Saginaw, MI Passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2018, at home at the age of 69 years. Larrie Sauer was born November 6, 1948, in Saginaw, the son of the late Walter J. and Glenila (Howe) Sauer. He served with the First Battalion Fifth Marine Regiment of the United States Marine Corps in Vietnam. He was also a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, the Zilwaukee Pride Committee, and the Disabled American Veterans. Larrie was a lifetime member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart and VFW Post 459, where he also served as a post commander. Mr. Sauer is survived by his two children, Renee (Kurt) Svetic and Robin Sauer; two grandchildren, Tony and Rachel Svetic; his childrens mother, Denise Sauer; and his two brothers, John and Richard Sauer. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Sauer. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 9, 2018, at the W. L. Case Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. Phillip DeVries will officiate with military honors conducted by VFW Post 1566. Friends may visit with the family at the Chapel on Sunday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the service.
