Egbert, Kenneth L. Sr. Saginaw, Michigan Went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at the age of 80 years. He was born April 18, 1936, in Tobacco Township, Gladwin County, the son of the late Beulah (Sensabaugh) and Gerald Egbert. He graduated from Saginaw High School with the Class of 1955. He retired from General Motors and later was employed by Valley Security Company. He was an active member of Ames United Methodist Church, serving as a Trustee, and also running the sound equipment for many years. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America, serving as Leader of Troop 304. In his earlier years, he enjoyed camping every summer with his family. He married Esther Hoyt on June 9, 1956; she survives him. He also leaves four sons, one daughter, and their spouses, Kenneth L. (Sally) Egbert, Jr.; Mike (Laure) Egbert; Donald (Susan Kane) Egbert; Robert (Jennifer) Egbert; and Ruth (John) Frey; thirteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters and one brother, Beulah Cowles, Vickie Reynolds, George Egbert; one sister-in-law, Helen Egbert; several nieces, nephews, and their families. He was predeceased by two brothers, Gerald and Robert Egbert. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 25, 2017, at Ames United Methodist Church, 801 State Street. Rev. Douglas Mater and Rev. Timothy Hastings will officiate. Private committal will take place later in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. His family will receive friends at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, from 2:00 8:00 p.m. on Friday and then at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. www.casefuneralhome.com
