Kathleen F.A. Paulus

Bay City, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at Bay Valley House, with her family and friends at her side. Age 81 years.

The daughter of the late John and Helen (Lippie) Carberry, Kathy was born on December 7, 1944, in Bay City, Michigan. Kathy married Joseph D. Paulus on March 7, 1970. They shared many wonderful years together. He preceded Kathy in death on March 29, 2014. Kathy was a devoted member of In His Presence Ministries, where her faith was an important part of her life. She had a special talent for decorating and was wonderfully creative and crafty, making her home warm, welcoming, and beautiful. She enjoyed shopping, especially for home décor. Known for her kind heart and generous spirit, Kathleen will be remembered for the love she shared with family and friends.

Surviving are her daughter, Kristi Nees; grandchildren, Amber Nees, Andrew Nees, and Megan (Alex) Davin; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Parsons, Collin Parsons, Aidan Davin. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Besides her husband and her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her brother, John Carberry Jr.

In accordance with Kathy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at In His Presence Ministries, 4521 Monitor Rd, Bay City, MI 48706. Pastors Michael and Toni Baranek will officiate. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the American Cancer SocietyAmerican Heart Association, Mary and Martha Ministries, or In His Presence Ministries Children Ministry.
