Kathleen Donna Trier

Kathleen Donna Trier St. Charles, Michigan Loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt passed into eternal life on October 9, 2016, at the age of 91 years. Kathleen was born June 6, 1925, in Lansing, Michigan the daughter of the late David and Delia (Blaine) Rappley. She married the love of her life, Melvin F. Trier on June 24, 1944; he predeceased her June 19, 1977. She resided in St. Charles for the entirety of her married life. She enjoyed being a wonderful homemaker. She spent many years going to the cabin in Grayling with family and friends, and picked huckleberries. She enjoyed cooking, baking, working in her yard, and being in nature watching many species of birds and lots of other critters that came into her backyard. She especially loved to crochet and was an avid reader until Macular Degeneration took her eyesight. She cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She as the "Giver" we all wished we could be and she will be greatly missed. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Gloria (Arnold) Younk; granddaughters, Paula (Peter) Isaac and Wendi Rae Younk; great-granddaughters, Ash Kaye and Haley Jo Leaym; special sister, Beverly Sperling; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by her siblings, Bill (Tillie), Bob (Kay), Don (Gerry), Russ (Gerry) Rappley, Beulah (Russell) Gage, Betty Lou (Rivett/Louis) Cribbins; and many beloved friends. Funeral services will take place at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 15, 2016, at W.L. Case & Company 201 N. Miller Rd. Her nephew Ronald Rappley will officiate the service with burial to follow in Garfield Cemetery, Swan Creek Township. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. www.casefuneralhome.com
