Karen Lynn (Fischer) McQuiston, 77, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025, just ten days after celebrating her 77th birthday. Born and raised on Fischer Farms in Thomas Township, Michigan, she was the beloved daughter of Edwin and Beatrice (Arman) Fischer.

A farmer at heart, Karen found joy in nurturing life around her. She cultivated a magnificent Hosta garden that was her pride and joy, and her green thumb extended to all her flower gardening endeavors. Her creative spirit shone through her woodworking projects, sewing skills, and countless crafting adventures. Whether working with her hands in the soil or creating something beautiful from raw materials, Karen approached every project with dedication and love.
Karen is lovingly survived by her children, Brian (Daisy) McQuiston and Shannon (Kevin) Irish; her cherished grandchildren, Chase (Hailey) McQuiston, Hunter (Kaitlin) Irish, and Caitlin McQuiston; her precious great-grandson, Soren McQuiston; and several nieces and nephews who will forever treasure their memories of her.
She was preceded in death by her husband Patrick, her brother Jerry Fischer, and her sister Nina Fischer.
In accordance with Karen's wishes, no funeral service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Rauchholz Memorial Library in Hemlock, reflecting Karen's belief in the importance of education and community enrichment.
