Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister passed away on January 29, 2021, at Covenant Hospital at the age of 78 years.
The daughter of the late James and Pauline (DeWinter) Larsen, was born on May 23, 1942, in Chicago IL. She was proud to have been a member from the last graduating class of 1960 from Sacred Heart Academy in Merrill, MI. Karen was predeceased by her fiancé Richard Schmidt in 2017. She was a homemaker for several years before entering the work force. Karen retired from Scientific Brake after 24 years of service. Karen remained in close contact with her classmates and had been involved in coordinating many luncheon gatherings. Karen’s hobbies included spending time with her family, sewing, reading, camping, shopping and decorating her home, and attending many sporting events for her children and grandchildren

Surviving are her children: Gregory Stadler, Susan Reynolds and Brian and Lisa Stadler. Her grandchildren: Mitchell and Jami Reynolds, Brady and Carissa Reynolds, Cole and Ashley Stadler, Maggie and D.J. Pickering Skylar Stadler (Chase), Morgan Stadler, Mylan Stadler, Casey Stadler, Saige Stadler, 4 great-grandchildren. Her siblings: Robert and Linda Larsen, David and Louann Larsen and Tina and Matt Eddy. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

Besides her fiancé and parents, she was predeceased by her son, Scott Stadler. A special thank you to her sister Tina who without fail checked on Karen daily especially in the last year when Karen struggled with her health.

Because of Covid a private family service will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2021, with burial to take place at a later date. In accordance with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services ordinance, indoor capacity is limited to 25 persons, face coverings are required, and social distancing encouraged. We appreciate everyone’s efforts to reduce the spread of covid-19 in our community. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, or the ALS society.
