Passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2025. Age 74 years.

Karen was born February 3, 1951, in Saginaw, Michigan, the daughter of the late Jack and Madeline (Starr) Hulme. She married Richard R. Kangas, June 9, 1973. Richard predeceased her, July 16, 2004. Karen retired from Saginaw Township Public Schools following a lengthy career.

Surviving are a son and daughter, Scott (Frances) Kangas; Kristy Kangas; three grandchildren, Chance Kangas, Marquez Deleon-Geese and Elijah Sawatzki; a brother, Jack (Sue) Hulme; a sister, Beverly Hardy; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will take place at Noon Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. with entombment in Roselawn Memorial Mausoleum.
