Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister passed away on January 26, 2025 at her home at the age of 72 years. Karen was born on June 12, 1952, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Robert and Shirley (Brassem) Ralph. She was a graduate of Buena Vista High School, class of 1971. Karen went on to graduate from beauty school and work as a hair stylist and was also a caregiver. She married Paul Chernow on August 5, 1978. Karen enjoyed figure skating in her younger days, as well as fishing and gardening. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Karen is survived by her husband Paul Chernow; sons Paul (Tammy) Chernow and Michael (Alicia) Chernow; grandson Lazaro Gonzales, and twin sister Sharon (Jim) Grotkowski.
Along with her parents she was predeceased by her brother Ronald Alpin.
To honor Karen's wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at W. L. Case and Company, 125 E. Saginaw Street, Merrill. Rev. Fr. Michael Steltenkamp, S.J. will officiate. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday at the Chapel from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider St. John XXIII Parish, Sacred Heart Church.
