It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Karen Joann Bosch, who passed away at home on June 9, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She has now been reunited in heaven with her beloved husband.
Karen was born in Saginaw, Michigan on January 25, 1947, the daughter of the late Teddie Hawkins and Carol (Remer) Hawkins.
Karen was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandma, and great-grandma, whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She found great joy in her creative hobbies, specifically sewing and quilting, which were true passions throughout her life. She also cherished time spent outdoors, finding peace in fishing and taking long, scenic drives with her husband.
Karen’s professional journey was marked by her time as an AT&T switchboard operator, and she eventually retired from AT&T after serving in six special divisions. Beyond her career, she was a business owner, having operated Bosch Video.
Service and dedication were hallmarks of Karen’s life. She served in the Navy Reserves and remained an active contributor to her community. Her passion for nurturing the next generation was evident through her time as a Brownie leader and field director at the Mitten Bay Girl Scout council. Additionally, she was a dedicated advocate for education, serving on the parent council for special needs and special education in Michigan.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and family. She will be remembered fondly for her kindness, her creativity, and the impact she made.
Karen is survived by her children and their spouses, James and Christy Bosch, Carol and Curt Fritz, and Tina and Robert Kelley; grandchildren and their spouses, Justin and Brittany Bosch, Megan Bosch and Jeston Evans, Andrew Bosch, Jessica Reger, Johnna and Dalton Lefever, and Jason Scherrer, and Valery and Matthew Parker; great-granchildren, Brooklynn, Justin Jr., Cyra, Wyatt and Tyler, Lillyonna, and Ava; brother, Bruce Hawkins.
