Obituary

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Karen Lee Amy. Karen was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as a grandmother. She gave meaning to the word family. Karen was a life long resident of Bridgeport, MI and passed away comfortably with family on Monday, February 10, 2026, at 84 years old.

Karen was born October 12, 1941 in Bridgeport MI, the second of seven children of Norbert and Marion Andrus. On July 30, 1960, she married the love of her life Edwin James Amy. Together they bought a small house on a wooded parcel of land in Bridgeport, MI where they raised their three children. Karen spent a decade driving a school bus for Bridgeport - Spaulding schools, a job she fondly talked about.

Karen was preceded in death by her husband Edwin Amy. She is survived by her children, Floyd Amy, Brenda Lofthouse and Larry Amy, along with 9 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and their respective families. Karen and Ed are being celebrated together at this time because the family was unable to have a memorial for Ed due to COVID restrictions at the time of his passing. Karen missed him every day as the couple spent 60 loving years together. They both enjoyed spending time with family, quilting and had 30 years of summer fun at Wixom Lake on their lake front property. Karen and Ed are beloved by many and shared their love and knowledge with everyone they met. No one was a stranger at their house and they treated everyone they met like family.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday, February 16, 2026, at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors (4480 Mackinaw Rd., Saginaw, MI 48603). Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Julie Bailey officiating. Following the service, burial will take place at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.

All are then invited to join the family for a luncheon in Karen and Ed’s honor at the Trillium Banquet Center (6415 State St., Saginaw, MI 48603).

Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Wounded Warrior Project. Please share your thoughts and memories with the family at the funeral home or through www.casefuneralhome.com
