Justina Marie Cooper of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 29, 2026. Justina Marie Cooper was born on July 14, 1988, in Saginaw, Michigan to Tina Marie Diaz and Reginald Ray Cooper Sr. She attended Swan Valley High School. The role of her lifetime, one she treasured and cherished above all others, was to be a loving and devoted mother to her son, Devin. Full of life and energy, Justina enjoyed listening to music as well as going to all types of concerts. She held a close affinity to the show, “I Love Lucy” often able to recite word for word various episodes. She collected all types of “Lucy” salt and pepper shakers, metal plaques, puzzles, t-shirts, a telephone, tea pot, and a lunch box to name a few. Fashion forward, Justina loved to look nice, especially her eyelashes, and had clothing for every occasion. A connoisseur of all foods, she loved anything her grandmother made, often taking pictures of all her food and posting it on all social media platforms. Justina loved the color hot pink and was even more excited if it had sparkle or glitter added to it. Though she could be the life of the party, loud, and outgoing, she had a beautiful heart and would often put others before herself. She will forever be remembered for her beautiful laugh and wonderful sense of humor, looking stunning in every outfit she wore, and for truly living an amazing life filled with many wonderful memories and stories.
Surviving are her son, Devin Laury-Cooper of Saginaw; mother, Tina Marie Diaz of Saginaw; father, Reginald Ray Cooper Sr. of Syracuse, New York; grandparents, Jack and Shelly Diaz of Saginaw. Also surviving are many aunt, uncles, and cousins, too numerous to mention, but held closely in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Dora Cooper; an uncle, William “Tutu” Cooper; and two great-grandmother, Barbara Perry and Kathrine Choyce.
Family and friends are welcome to gather with the family at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 201 N. Miller Rd., Saginaw, MI 48609 on Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the family’s wishes c/o Shelly Diaz. Please share your thoughts and memories with the family at the funeral home or through www.casefuneralhome.com.
