Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at her home, with her family at her side. Age 81 years.

The daughter of the late Donald J. and Blanche L. (Harding) Praay, Judy was born on October 30, 1943, in Saginaw, Michigan. She graduated from Arthur Hill High School with the class of 1961. Judy married Richard F. “Dick” Stone on January 11, 1964. He preceded her in death on January 21, 2022. Judy had a fulfilling career, having retired from her part-time position at Joann Fabrics after many dedicated years of service. In addition to her professional contributions, she was a devoted homemaker. Judy was actively involved in her local church, Holy Family Catholic Church, and devoted her time as a Hospice Volunteer, providing comfort and support to those in need. Her creative spirit was reflected in her passions for sewing, painting, knitting, crocheting, sculpting, and various other hobbies. She also enjoyed spending leisure time at the casino.

Surviving are her daughters, Sharon Jackson, Karen Stone (John Wier), Jennifer (Chris) Sparks; grandchildren, Jory Jackson, Jacob Jackson (Jasmin Stockmeyer), Bailey “Boo Bug” Jackson (Thomas Coulter), Brendan Jones (Amber Lynch), Dylan Jones (Julie McDonald), Riley Helmka; great-grandchild, Theodore Jackson; brother, Larry Praay; a very dear niece, Barb Doran; and very dear neighbor, Barbara “Bobbi” Ashford. Also surviving are many extended family members and friends. Besides her husband and her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Greg Jackson; and her grandson, Joshua Jackson.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Covenant at Home Hospice, especially Ashley, Amber, Nicole, and Jen, for their kind and compassionate care of Judy.

Honoring Judy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. No services will take place. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to W. L.
