Judith Ellen Sowders, age 76, of Hemlock, Michigan, passed away following a brief illness at Covenant Cooper on Saturday, July 4, 2026, with her family by her side.

Judy was born May 5, 1950, in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Joseph and Betty Dunn.

She earned her Bachelor and Master Degrees in Elementary Education from CMU. Judy taught for Midland Public Schools and a school near Sandpoint, Idaho. After retiring, she moved back to Michigan to be near family in 2015.

Judy is survived by her siblings Kathy Hayes, her twin Christy (John) Rick, Barb (Tom) Edwards, Marianne Dunn, and Jay (Sue) Dunn; and many nieces and nephews.

She attended the Well Community Church in Hemlock and considered it her second family

In honor of Judy’s wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at the Well Community Church, 247 N Fordney Rd, Hemlock, MI 48626, where friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service.
