Joyce Ann Schuknecht

Passed away on Friday, October 21, 2022 at Hoyt Nursing & Rehab Center. Age 93 years.

The daughter of the late William Frederick and Merna Marion (Gibson) Fischer, Joyce was born on January 12, 1929, in Saginaw, Michigan. She graduated from Saginaw High School with the class of 1947. Joyce married John E. “Jack” Schuknecht on September 10, 1949; he preceded her in death on February 23, 1994. She was a member of Freeland United Methodist Church.

Surviving are three sons and their spouses: Michael and Cathy Schuknecht, Scott and Gayle Schuknecht, Brad and Stacey Schuknecht; seven grandchildren: Jessica, Michael, Amanda, Andrea, Amy, Alexis and Joelle; great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Kelly, Lillian, Gregory and Benjamin, her sister-in-law Bernadine Fischer and many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Joyce was preceded in death by two brothers and her sister: Kenneth Fischer, Keith Fischer, Marilyn Lemcke.

Funeral service will take place 12:00 noon Thursday October 27, 2022, at the W.L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. Ernesto Mariuna will officiate with burial to follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Freeland. Friends may visit with family on Thursday at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials Freeland United Methodist Church.
