Beloved wife and sister passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022 at St. Francis Home, with her family at her side; at the age of 81 years.

The daughter of the late Kermit and Wilma (Mohr) Schultz, Joyce was born on June 26, 1941 in Saginaw, Michigan. She graduated from Merrill High School with the class of 1959. Joyce continued her education at Central Michigan University. She married Duane Otter on October 14, 1961 in Wheeler, Michigan; he survives her. Joyce retired from Dow Chemical in 1992, after 32 years of loyal and dedicated service. She was an avid archer for 7 years. Joyce was the secretary and member of the Professional Archers Association. She enjoyed baking, knitting, and reading. Above all, Joyce cherished the time spent with her family, especially her puppies.  

Surviving besides her husband of 61 years, Duane Otter; her beloved puppy: Maggie; sisters and brothers: Duane (Ann) Schultz, Gail (Jim) VanCoevering, Lynn (Russ) Boone, Kay (Bill) Thompson, Beth (Tim) Foye. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Joyce was preceded in death by her brother: Dale Schultz.

Funeral Service will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road, Saginaw, Michigan 48609. Rev. Julie Bailey will officiate with burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit the family from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 5, 2022 at the funeral chapel, and from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home on Saturday. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Richland Township Fire Department.
