Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend passed away on Monday, October 31, 2022 at the age of 89 years.

The daughter of the late Magdeleno and Alberta Maldonado was born April 25, 1933 in Saginaw, MI.  She was a member of St. George Catholic Church.  Josephine enjoyed word searches, court TV and feeding the squirrels.  She most especially cherished time spent with her family.  She married Sotero Flores on April 6, 1963; he predeceased her on December 22, 2017.

Surviving are her children, John (Sylvia) Flores, Patty (Jose) Garcia; step-children: Guadalupe Flores, Margarita Ana (Eduardo) Flores; grandchildren: Anthony Flores, Lena Aleman, Vincent Flores, Marc Ramos, Matthew Ramos; step-grandchildren: Venancio Luna, Rosario Luna, Michael Flores, Juan Flores, several great-grandchildren, many relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her step-grandson, Oscar Luna II; siblings Alfonzo Heredia, Lucy Camero, Ramona Hernandez, Michael Heredia, Raymond Heredia and her special niece Lisa Hernandez.

The family would like to thank the staff at Covenant Healthcare for the loving care they gave Josephine and her family.

Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 5, 2022 at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. Fr. Alberto Vargas will officiate.  Burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery later.  Friends may visit with the family at the funeral chapel on Friday from 3:00-8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Covenant Healthcare Foundation.
