Bembeneck, Josephine (Ortiz, Anthony) Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at Covenant Harrison, at the age of 83 years. Josephine Ortiz was born July 17, 1933, in Shepherd, Michigan, the daughter of the late Salvador and Guadalupe (Gonzalez) Ortiz. She had been employed as a nursing assistant at The Home for the Aged for many years. She was a member of the Harvest Assembly of God Church. She married Edward Bembeneck on June 5, 1993; he predeceased her November 26, 2011. Surviving are two children, Jo Anne and her husband David Harris Sr., Saginaw; Lawrence Anthony and his wife Cheri, Martinez, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Jason (Jennifer) Harris, Rina (Walter) Stroik, Jillian (Saul) Garza, Tessa (Blake Hiben) Harris, David Harris Jr., Harris, Jessica Anthony and Leah Anthony; eight great-grandchildren, Sage Jackson, Soren Stroik, Saul Jr., Estrella, Chase, Tru Garza, James Harris and Janelle Harris; many nieces, nephews and their families. She was predeceased by a grandson, Sonny Alaniz; seven brothers and two sisters Samuel, Robert, John, Lawrence, Celestiano, Fred, Joe Ortiz, Mary Pena and Frances Vega. Funeral service will take place at 12:00 noon Friday, February 10, 2017, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, where her family will receive friends 10:00 a.m. on Friday until the time of service.
