Joseph L. Scorsone, Jr. Saginaw, Michigan Passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 18, 2015, at Covenant-Cooper. Age 71 years. The son of the late Sheila Elizabeth (Betty) and Joseph L. Scorsone, Sr. was born February 23, 1944 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. He was a graduate of Arthur Hill High School, Class of 1962. He attended the Virginia Military Institute, graduating in 1966 and received his Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit Law School in 1973. He practiced law in Saginaw since that time. He was a member of the Michigan Bar Association and the Saginaw County Bar Association. He served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of the AMVETS and American Legion Post #22. He attended St. Stephen Catholic Church, was a member of the Sons of Italy and the Pioneer Club. Joe was an avid golfer, writing a column on golf equipment for the Saginaw News, participating in the Sons of the Pioneer Club golf league and was a former member of the Germania and Maple Hill Golf clubs. He had an interest in magic, preforming magic shows for area children. He married Susan K. Fobear, November 9, 1968. Surviving are a son and his wife, Jeffrey and Lisa Scorsone, Carol Stream, Illinois; his longtime companion, Sandra Johnson; many cousins, other relatives and friends. The Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 23, 2015, at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1310 Malzahn St. Saginaw. Rev. Andy LaFramboise will officiate. Military honors will be under the auspices of V.F.W. Post #1859. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. from 2:00-9:00 p.m. Wednesday and then on Thursday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Liturgy.
