Joseph J. "Sonny" Hervert of Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly with his family by his side on Tuesday, December 29, 2021, at Ascension St. Mary's Hospital. He was 76 years old. Joseph J. Hervert was born on August 23, 1945, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Joe D. Hervert and Ann Pavlicek. He met the love of his life, Shirley Ann Woodke, while in high school. Their love story began while living on the same street, just opposite ends. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage; she preceded him in death on September 16, 1999. Sonny was employed with General Motors for 25 years until his retirement. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed golfing. Above all, Sonny loved and cherished his family. He will forever be remembered for his love and selflessness to his family.

Surviving are a son, David (Melinda) Hervert of Frankenmuth; daughter, Melissa (Ryan) Foor of Summerville, SC; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Jeff (Julie) Hervert of Caseville; sisters-in-law, Joanne Drake and Mary Willis; and an aunt, Kate Palvlicek and family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Hervert; son, Michael Hervert; and his parents, Joe D. and Ann Hervert.
