Obituary

John "Doc" Dennis Aaron Saginaw, MI Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, godfather, brother and friend went home to be with the Lord on April 30, 2019. He was 76 years old. John was born on November 30, 1942 in Detroit, MI to the late Carl and Marjorie (Watts) Aaron. After he graduated high school he joined the United States Navy in which he served for 6 years. He sailed on the USS Willis A. Lee and was part of the blockade of Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He then joined the Merchant Marines and served as a Lieutenant Commander for 9 years. He married Sandra Watters on September 20, 1986 at the Old Mission Church on Mackinac Island; she survives him. John worked as a journeyman carpenter and painter and was the owner of BMCIES in Muskegon for 10 years. He then flew as a commercial pilot. John was also the owner of J B Meinbergs for 5 years. John then went to school to become a registered nurse, retiring after 15 years. In his free time, John enjoyed flying, hunting, skeet shooting and sailing with his good friends. He also loved his toys, especially his motorcycle and tractor, and his dog, Parker. Along with his wife, he is survived by a brother, Harold Aaron of Farwell, MI; and his step-mother Gloria Aaron of Freeland, MI; 6 children, Scott Aaron of Fremont, CA, Michael (Christina) Aaron of Los Banos, CA, Michael Turben of San Antonio, TX, Amy (Chris) Reinbolt of Saginaw, MI, Laurie (Ryan) Thompkinson of Sylvania, OH and Morgan (Cory) Gehrt of Appleton, WI; 16 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; a goddaughter, Jessica Wynn of Saginaw, MI; as well as numerous friends. He is preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Hinchcliff; and a grandson, Justin King Toljonick. Honoring Johns wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Michigan Avenue Baptist Church, 203 S. Michigan Avenue. Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
