John J. Demijohn Sr. Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016, at Stonecrest Assisted living. Age 88 years. The son of the late Juliana (Zachinas) and Charles Demijohn was born August 3, 1928 in Tuscola, Michigan. He married Kathleen O'Connor, September 3, 1949. She passed away November 3, 2012. John served with the U.S. Marine Corp. during the Korean War. He was employed by General Motors, retiring in 1986 with 37 years of service. He was a founding member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Surviving are seven children and their spouses, John Demijohn; Francis and Maureen Demijohn; Kathleen Demijohn; Sue and Frank Kessler; Nanette and Mark Bodrie; Timothy and Stena Demijohn; Dennis and Traci Demijohn; 18 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph Demijohn; Frank Demijohn; many nieces and nephews. A granddaughter, Johnna, three sisters and two brothers, Ida Schmidt, Peter Demijohn, Paul Demijohn, Rose Finnigan and Veronica Parsons have predeceased him. In accordance with John's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial funeral liturgy will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2016, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Rd. Saginaw. Rev. Peter J. Gaspeny will officiate. Friends may call at the Church from 10:00 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the memorial service.
