John David Faber of Hemlock, Michigan
Beloved, son, brother, uncle, and cousin passed away peacefully with his family by his side on May 13, 2025, at Covenant HealthCare – Harrison. He was 55 years old. John David Faber was born on October 14, 1969, in Saginaw, Michigan to David K. and Linda Susan (Hoefling) and Donald Chapman. He enjoyed spending time boating, fishing, and camping, especially with Kathy and the late Wes Wehner and Gary (Linda) Law. John loved homemade chocolate chip cookies. Above all, John loved and cherished his family, watching television with snacks by his side, and hanging out with his aunt Gail. He will forever be remembered for his pure heart, happy soul, for his love for cats and dogs, and always having a beautiful smile on his face every single day.
Surviving are his mother and stepfather, Linda (Donald) Chapman; a sister, Susan (Rick) Morrison; a niece, Crystal (Ed) Dean; a nephew, Cole (Maddison) Morrison; two great-nephews: Blake Dean and Kyle Morrison; a stepbrother, Daniel (Tonya) Chapman and their family; a stepsister, Patricia Mock and her family; two aunts: Gail (Jeff) Ruppel and their family; Karen Hoefling and her family; two uncles: Gary Pratt and his family; Jim Faber and his family. Also surviving are many cousins and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his father, David Faber; grandparents: Clyde and Margaret Hoefling and Howard and Dorothy Faber; an aunt, Barbara Pratt; 6 uncles: Leroy, Robert, Jack, Michael, and Glenn Hoefling, and John Faber.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Southport AFC Home, and his coordinator, James Lett, for all the love and care they provided to John and the family. They are forever grateful for all the wonderful angels who cared for him.
A memorial service will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 201 N. Miller Rd., Saginaw, MI 48609. Rev. William W. Hessler will officiate. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Southport AFC Home or a local animal shelter in John’s name.
