Passed away Sunday, July 16, 2017, at New Hope Valley. Age 92 years. The son of the late Matilda (Moldenhauer) and John H. Freudenstein was born February 15, 1925 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Delores F. Derek, June 2, 1962. She passed away December 16, 2002. John served with the U.S. Army during WWII in China, India and Burma. He was employed by the U.S. Post Office retiring with over 42 years of service. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and later attended Peace Lutheran Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the out of doors and spending time at his cottage on Van Etten Lake. Surviving are his two sons and daughter-in-law, Dr. John Freudenstein; Thomas and Katina Freudenstein; three grandsons, Brandon, Grant and Trevor; his special friend, Joyce Birney. The funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at Peace Lutheran Church, 3427 Adams St. at Mackinaw. Rev. Robert Eggers will officiate. Friends may call at the Church from Noon until the time of the funeral service.
