McGrandy, JoAnne L. Bridgeport, Michigan Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 7, 2018, at the age of 86 years. JoAnne L. Catrain was born December 26, 1931, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the daughter of the late Peter Joseph "Joe" and Anna (Giorgis) Catrain. She grew to womanhood in Saginaw, and graduated from Arthur Hill High School with the Class of 1949. She married Edward L. McGrandy on October 6, 1950; he predeceased her February 17, 1984. JoAnne enjoyed reading, crocheting, knitting and going to the casinos. Surviving are three sons, one daughter and their spouses, Michael and Dawn McGrandy, St. Charles, David and Connie McGrandy, Las Vegas, Nevada, LeAnn Pajcic, Saginaw, and Scott and Michelle McGrandy, St. Charles; eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter: Shannon and Kyle Visin and their daughter, Sloan Alexandra, Samantha McGrandy, Matthew McGrandy, Joleen Pajcic, Steven Pajcic, Joshua McGrandy, Morgan McGrandy and Zachary McGrandy; two sisters, Pauline Nelson, Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, and Carol and Peter Cherry, Ann Arbor; several nieces, nephews and their families; and a beloved friend, June Leddy. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her step-mother, Catherine (Vollmer) Catrain. Funeral service will take place at 12:00 noon on Friday, July 13, 2018, at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 5700 Dixie Highway, Bridgeport, where her family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. on Friday until the time of service. Chaplain Don Killey will officiate with burial in Pinegrove Cemetery, Bridgeport.
