Joan A. Rose

Joan A. Rose Merrill, Michigan Passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2016, at Schnepp Senior Care and Rehab Center. Age 84 years. The daughter of the late Leona (Davis) and John Stoneman was born February 16, 1932 in Alma, Michigan. She graduated from Breckenridge High School. She married William A. Rose, January 18, 1958. He passed away July 28, 2006. Joan was a member of Breckenridge United Methodist Church and enjoyed baking cakes, sewing and playing the piano. Most of all she enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving are a son, a daughter and their spouses, Gary W. and Cheryl Rose, Merrill, MI; Pam and Glen Wilson, Georgia; 6 grandchildren and their spouses, Neil and Jillyan Rose, Wheeler, MI; Alesha and Chris Betts, Merrill, MI; Stacy and Brandon Giles, Oxford, MI; Steven Rose, Merrill, MI; Vincent Wilson; Michaela Wilson both of Georgia; 8 great grandchildren, Ava, Mason, Landon, Elizabeth, Morgan, Logan, Brennan and Vivian; one brother, one sister and their spouses, Dale and Vera Stoneman, Breckenridge, MI; Margaret and Eugene Freed, Elwell, MI; several nieces and nephews. A son, Michael Rose, and 2 brothers and a sister, Gerald Stoneman, Garnett Burkett and Harold Stoneman, have predeceased her. The funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, October 23, 2016, at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel in Merrill. Rev. Bill Dye will officiate. Friends may call at the Chapel from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the charity of their choice.
