Passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2019 after a long battle with cancer surrounded by her loving family. She left this world to be with the Lord. Jennifer was 66 years old. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, James P. "Jamer" Cardinal Jr., her son Jeremy (Shauna) Cardinal, her daughter, Jamie (Jason) Wikaryasz, son Kenny Bruske, her grandchildren: Chelsa (Israel) Delgado, Levi Leyrer, Chance Wikaryasz, Caylie, Mackenzie, Brandy Cardinal, Dylan Ewald, Sophia and Jonas Welles, great-grandchildren: Chloe, Kennedy, Emma, Roman and Cami, her siblings: Eric (Christine) Purvis, Kimberly Purvis, Tammy VanKirk, Andrew (Stephanie) Purvis, Tracey (Greg Hill) Purvis, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Jennifer was predeceased by her father, Lloyd Lee Purvis and her mother Avis Arlene Norwick Purvis. Jennifer graduated from Freeland High School, the class of 1970. For many years, she worked in the emergency room at St. Marys Hospital in Saginaw. She later transferred to the Seton Cancer Center Institute in West Branch, where she worked until her retirement. The family would like thank Sharon and Stacy from Compassus Hospice of West Branch and Liza, Tracey, and Kim for the loving care they gave Jennifer. A celebration of her life will take place at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2019 at the Saginaw Wesleyan Church, 2125 Shattuck Rd. Rev. Robert Tibbitts will officiate. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday at church from 12:00 noon until the time of the celebration. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the East Side Soup Kitchen.
