Jennifer “Jenny” Lynn Taylor of Birch Run
Beloved sister, aunt, cousin, and friend passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at My Michigan Medical Center – Saginaw. She was 76 years old. Jennifer Lynn Smith was born on October 16, 1949, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Alvin Henry and Celia May (Burk) Smith. She was a proud 1967 graduate of Arthur Hill High School. Jenny also attended Delta College where she studied accounting. While attending church with her sister, she met the love of her life, Gene Donald Taylor. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on July 11, 1981. He preceded her in death May 5, 2015. Jenny worked as an office manager for Mutual of Omaha Insurance and Light House Electric Company. Jenny was a long-term and faithful member of Faith Lutheran Church in Bridgeport. A gifted and talented seamstress, Jenny made use of her five embroidery machines to design and create her own clothing, as well as sell them for her online business on eBay. She also enjoyed working on wordsearch and crossword puzzles and loved watching classic movies on her favorite television TMC, especially movies with Elvis Prestley. Meticulous for all details, Jenny will forever be remembered for her love and loyalty toward her family.
Surviving are three siblings: Vicki Mills of Saginaw; Tim (Deborah) Smith of Denver, CO; Donna (Brian) Leinberger of Freeland. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and dear friends too numerous to mention, but held closely to her heart.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene D. Taylor; mother, Celia and Don Gross; and father, Alvin and Arlene Smith.
A funeral service will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Faith Lutheran Church, 4241 Williamson Road, Bridgeport, MI 48722. Pastor Tim Behnke will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the church on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Faith Lutheran Church or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Please share your thoughts and memories with the family at the church or through www.casefuneralhome.com.
