Jeffrey Lee Broughton passed away suddenly on August 2, 2019 doing two of the things he loved best, fishing and spending time with his friends Jacob and Shawn Brown, and Jeremy Schneider. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Jeff was born to Jack and Karen (Smith) Broughton August 2, 1973. He attended St.Charles High School. He had previously worked installing commercial doors, but was at his best when tinkering around in his garage with small motors. He loved the challenge of something broke and making it run again. He spent a lot a time with his friend Cliff building the Monster truck of all Monster trucks and loved every minute of it. He is survived by his two children, Tyler Broughton and Kelsey Broughton; his dad, Jack (Jane Burr) Broughton; a sister, Anna (Doug) Goka; and Jacob, MO, Maddie, and Michele and family. He leaves behind aunts and uncles, Barb and Vern Snelenberger, Amy and Bill Ward, August and Vickie Thick; and aunts Janet Izzo, Carol Broughton, and Shirley Smith. He leaves behind cousins, Gary Blaine, Rod Izzo, Alicia Snelenberger, Melissa Baker, August and Georgie Thick and David Scheuer. He had many friends, Andy Ferman, Wendy Garringer and Dave Hall, Jerry Rodriguez, his High School Crew, Merrill Neighborhood Crew and many others. He was pre-deceased by his mother, Karen Broughton; grandparents, Lee and Irene Broughton and George and Madeline Thick; uncles, Fred Smith and Frank Izzo; a cousin David Snelenberger; and two friends, Art Gath and Ken Coty. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 9, 2019 at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road, Saginaw. Pastor David Boillat will officiate with burial to follow at Swan Creek Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral chapel from 3:00-8:00 pm on Thursday, as well as on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
