Jeannie Firmingham passed away peacefully at Toni & Trish House, on June 9, 2026. Born on June 26, 1948, in Saginaw, Michigan, she was the beloved daughter of the late Lloyd George Smewing and Mildred Grace (Duby) Smewing.

Jeannie dedicated much of her life to being a loving and devoted caregiver, a role through which she touched the lives of many with her kindness and compassion. Her selfless spirit and warm heart defined her career and leave a lasting legacy of care and devotion.

Beyond her professional life, Jeannie embraced the pleasures of everyday life with enthusiasm and joy. She found delight in camping, bowling, riding her bike, and shopping. Among her happiest memories were the cherished moments spent at Applebee’s with family and friends, relishing her favorite margaritas and the company around her.

Jeannie is survived by her two daughters, Kelly (Rod) Weber and Margo (Cory) Fisher. She was also a devoted grandmother to two grandchildren: Jacob (Amber) Shelden, and Kerri (Alexis) Caballero, and a great-grandmother to five great-grandchildren: Aria, Keira, Lydia, Abram, and Jesse, who brought her immense joy and pride.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister, whose memories remain in the hearts of those who knew Jeannie.

A private family gathering will be held with entombment in Chapel Hill Mausoleum.
