Jeanne Kay Moulton, 70, of Merrill, Michigan, passed away on August 14, 2025, due to complications from heart surgery.
Jeanne was born on September 27, 1954, to Ben and Virginia (Sherman) Moulton. She worked for General Motors for many years but found her true calling in serving the students of Breckenridge and Merrill Schools, where she worked in the kitchen preparing lunches and at the school daycare center with love and kindness.
Affectionately known by those who loved her as “Weiner,” Jeanne found her greatest joy in her family, whom she loved unconditionally. She was known for her sassy and straight forward attitude, always telling you like it is. She enjoyed Sunday family dinners, watching the Detroit Tigers, card parties, and trips to the casino.
Jeanne would never show up to a party empty-handed; she eagerly would make a pan of Scotcharoos, rice crispy treats, or finger Jello for any occasion. Jeanne was the boss when it came to family gatherings. She was quick to decide a menu and (lovingly) tell you what you were making.
She loved her TV shows and would rarely miss “The Price is Right” and “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert”. She loved a good trip to Applebee’s or Cracker Barrel and would make many ventures to Taco Bell for her favorite lemonade. Jeanne loved the color green, specifically neon green, and would often be seen sporting her bright green CROCS or her green jacket. While Jeanne never had children of her own, she loved her nieces and nephews and their children as if they were hers.
Jeanne is survived by her siblings: Jim Moulton, Jann (Wayne) Kaufman, Dean (Ann) Moulton, and Darren (Beth) Moulton. She will be dearly missed by her nieces and nephews: Junior (Carla) Kaufman (who will tell you he was her favorite), Mindy (Todd) Saunders, Melissa Hickey, Ben (Trisha) Kaufman, Ryan (Lindse) Moulton, Travis (Jacklyn) Moulton, and Alexis (Joe) Moulton-Sira (also her favorite).
Her great-nieces and great-nephews: Trent, Jace, and Kye Saunders; Madalyn and Olivia Hickey; Wyatt and Dellah Moulton; and Jordan and Maya Moulton will remember her with love. Jeanne was also eagerly anticipating the arrival of another great-niece or nephew in November. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her dear friends: Joy Gulliver, Sally Royce, Ruth Conely, and Linda Davis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Virginia Moulton; sister-in-law, Robin Moulton; and nephew, Robert Hickey Jr. She is reunited with her beloved dogs, Callie and Gizmo.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place, and no memorial service will be held.
The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the nurses and doctors at Henry Ford Hospital, who worked tirelessly to ensure Jeanne’s comfort in her final days. A special thank-you also goes to her extended family at DaVita Fashion Square Dialysis, who brightened her days and kept her company over the past five years.
