Jean A. McDonald

Jean A. McDonald, age 85, of Bloomfield Township, Michigan, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2024. 

Jean was born in Saginaw, Michigan, on March 14, 1939, the daughter of the late Russell and Edith (Merlone) Fournier. She was a graduate of Saginaw High School, class of 1957. Jean married Dale C. McDonald on October 4, 1958. Dale preceded her in death on January 22, 2014. She worked for Great Lakes Bank for 32 years, retiring in 1992. After retirement, she volunteered with St. Mary Hospital for 17 years. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. She enjoyed the outdoors, going camping and taking walks in the woods. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and took great joy in spending time with them. She was a loving and caring person and enjoyed buying gifts for family and friends. She loved to cook and shared her recipes with others. She liked going to lunch with her co-workers and her best friend, Lynn Mocny. 

Jean is survived by her children and their spouses, Michael and Melodie McDonald, Ann and Joseph Schank, and Paul McDonald; grandchildren and their spouses, Heather Case, Jason and Laura Trea, Robert and Tami Trea, Bryan and Hannah Trea, Brittany Houske, Buck McDonald, Nicole Schank, Jennifer Schank; great grandchildren, Holly, Kadence, Brant, Bella, Emma, Tinsley, Lance, Amanda, Jacob, John Michael, Morgan, Dawn, Sadie, Abigail, Benjamin, and Madalynne; a sister, Rosemary Stamann. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Russell David McDonald; siblings, Jerry (Joyce) Fournier, Robert (Sally) Fournier, Linda and Weston Bennett; and her brother-in-law, Eric Stamann. 

Friends may visit with the family from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at W.L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd, Saginaw, MI 48603. A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 6, 2024 at Holy Family Catholic Church 1525 S Washington Ave, Saginaw, MI 48601, where the friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service.
