Rombach, Jean Ellen Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at her home with her family by her side, age 86 years. Jean was born in Saginaw, Michigan August 23, 1928 the daughter of the late Herbert and Florence (McHugh) Straebel. She married Bernard "Bernie" H. Rombach, Jr. November 7, 1953. He predeceased her December 22, 1996. Jean was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church where she volunteered for the Prayer Line she also volunteered at St. Mary's of Michigan Hospital Auxiliary and the Saginaw Soup kitchen. She and Bernie loved to travel, play golf together, cross country ski and square dance. Jean enjoyed hosting guests and entertaining family and friends, especially her grandkids. For over 40 years Jean played cards and still looked forward to gathering each month with the "500 Club". She loved spending time at Higgins Lake, boating and socializing around the campfire. Jean is survived by her two sons and their wives, Robert J. and Laurie A. Rombach, Midland, John B. and Lynette Rombach, Saginaw; five grandchildren, Kahryn A. (Brent) Riley, Victoria A. Rombach, Joseph B. Rombach, Ellen M. Rombach and Andrea L. Rombach; a sister, Mary Thomas; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four siblings, Tom Straebel, Fran Earley, Herb Straebel and John Straebel. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 28, 2015 at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1310 Malzahn. Rev. Andrew LaFramboise will officiate with burial to follow in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Friday from 2:00 8:00 p.m. where they may join the family for a parish vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Friends may also call at church Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of the service.
