Whiteherse

W.L. Case and Company Funeral Directors
3:00 - 6:00 pm (Eastern time)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Janice Kay Whiteherse, age 77, on June 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on May 27, 1949, in Saginaw, Michigan, to George and Elsie (Bellenbaum) Becker, who instilled in her the values of kindness, perseverance, and devotion that she carried throughout her life.
After graduating high school, she met her best friend and loving partner, Ronald Whiteherse. They married on May 24, 1969. Janice followed her passion for learning into a career in education. After earning her teaching degree, she dedicated many years to helping young minds grow. In her 50s—never one to shy away from a challenge—she returned to school to earn her master’s degree, a milestone that brought her great pride and inspired those around her.
Janice’s life was rich with simple joys. She was an avid reader who could often be found with a book in hand, lost in a story. She adored her grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments, big or small. Her beloved dog, Pearl, was her constant companion, and their daily walks were among her happiest routines.
Though Janice was confident in her “tech skills,” her family lovingly knew better. Helping her navigate the latest device or app became a running family joke—one she embraced with good humor and a twinkle in her eye.
Above all, Janice will be remembered for her caring spirit, her unwavering devotion to her family, and her deeply sympathetic heart. She had a way of making others feel understood and supported, offering comfort with both her words and her presence.
Janice will be lovingly remembered by her son, Ryan (Jenna) Whiteherse; her grandchildren, Isabelle, Abigail, and Brady Whiteherse; her sister Nancy (Russ) Wise; her brother, David (Dot) Becker; and many nieces, nephews, and her teaching family who held her deeply in their hearts.
Alongside her parents, she is preceded in passing by her loving husband, Ronald, and one brother, Thomas Becker.
Janice leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and gentle strength. She will be profoundly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
In keeping with Janice’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Family will receive guest on June 29, 2026 from 3:00pm until 6:00pm at W.L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd, Saginaw, MI 48603.
Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation in honor of Janice to the ASPCA, https://www.aspca.org/.
