Janice Kay Zuzula of Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Saginaw Senior Care. She was 85 years old. Janice Kay Harris was born on August 25, 1940, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Merle D. and Florence E. (Breternitz) Harris. She met the love of her life, Donald H. Zuzula, while at the B&G Restaurant in Spaulding Township. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on November 9, 1956; he preceded her in death on June 12, 2013. Throughout her life, Janice held many different jobs, but the role she cherished most was that of a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She worked as a front desk clerk and cashier at T Way, served as a bus driver for the Bridgeport-Spaulding School District, enjoyed selling Avon and Tupperware, and concluded her working years in the cafeteria at St. Mary's of Michigan Hospital. She took great pleasure riding her motorcycle to work as a bus driver, until driving in the rain convinced her to leave it parked. Janice enjoyed sewing and creating clothing, knitting, crocheting, playing the piano and the accordion. She loved cooking and took great joy in hosting family and friends. She had a gift for creating warm, welcoming gatherings, taking great pride not only in the meals she prepared but also in the beautiful presentation of her home and table. Janice had the true gift of making everyone feel seen and welcomed. Going to dinner with her family and friends made her heart feel full, but when she was talking about her children and grandchildren she would radiate with joy.

She had four children: the late Steven Merle (Kim) Zuzula; Daniel Henry and the late Nancy Jean Zuzula of Vassar; John Edward (Heather) Zuzula of Howard City; Dee Dee Zuzula of Saginaw; eight grandchildren; many great-grandchildren. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends, too numerous to mention but held closely to her heart.
