Janet Ann (Zaleski) Rainey

Janet Ann (Zaleski) Rainey, age 83, of Bridgeport, MI, passed away on February 23, 2024. 

Janet was born on November 13, 1940, the daughter of the late Linus F. Zaleski and Lela H. (Kelly) Zaleski. She worked on the switchboard at Bell Telephone, before moving on to St. Luke’s Hospital where she served in the same position. She retired from the Human Resources Department at Covenant after twenty-five years of service. She was a member of St. Jospeh Catholic Church, St. Christopher Catholic Church, and St. Francis de Sales Parish. She was a member of the American Junior Red Cross and the Water Ballet. Janet enjoyed knitting, reading, doing word search puzzles, eating ice cream, and fishing with her husband when the weather permitted.

Janet is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, William Rainey. They were united in marriage on June 2, 1962. She is also survived by their children Tamara King and William (Susan) Rainey; eight grandchildren Mike (Cinthia) Fox, Heidi Fox, Patrick (Mika) Fox, Toni Fox, Nicole (Chris) Gonzalez, Olivia Rainey, Laura Rainey, and Rachel Brown; seven great-grandchildren Sophie, Kelly, Enzo, Beckham, Xander, Izabella, and Kailer. Janet was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, daughter Kelly Fox; and great-grandchild Radd.

Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at W.L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 5700 Dixie Hwy, Saginaw, MI 48601. The Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at St. Francis de Sales Parish, 3945 Williamson Rd, Saginaw, MI 48601, where friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service. Fr. Alberto Vargas will officiate the service with interment to follow in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.
