Janet Kay Gedraitis

Janet Kay Gedraitis of Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, and great-grandmother "gigi" passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at Covenant HealthCare - Cooper. She was 83 years old. Janet Kay Marks was born on October 17, 1939, in Buchanan, Michigan, to the late George and Mazie (Kocher) Marks. She met the love of her life, Charles W. Gedraitis, while bowling at the bowling alley. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on February 11, 1961, in Saginaw; he survives her. She worked as an administrative clerk at St. Luke's Hospital dedicating over 20 years of loyal service to the hospital. The role of her lifetime, and one she truly treasured and cherished, was to be a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Janet's little piece of heaven was traveling with her husband in their motor home throughout the United States, including Alaska three times. She and Charles were proud winter Texans for over 20 years and enjoyed metal detecting, camping, and site seeing. She will forever be remembered for her loving and compassionate spirit, for truthfully giving an honest opinion when asked, and for truly living an amazing life filled with many beautiful memories and stories.

Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Charles W. Gedraitis of Saginaw; a son and two daughters: Eric (Cheryl) Gedraitis of Bridgeport; Julie (Bill) Schumacher of Saginaw; Karen (Jim) Clark of Saginaw; five grandchildren: Andrea Kennelly, Patrick (Nathan) Kennelly, Hillary (Nicholas) Brenner, Kelsey Gedraitis, and Alexander (Elizabeth) Clark; four great-grandchildren: Stella, Patrick, Ashton, and Remington. Also surviving are many extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
