Janet Lee (Brush) Emeott of Thomas Township, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother was called home to be with her heavenly father, surrounded by her family on January 26, 2024.  She was 87 years old.  Janet Lee Brush was born on March 31, 1936 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Clifford and Eva (Burgess) Brush. She was a 1954 graduate of Arthur Hill High School, in Saginaw.  She married the love of her life, Donald James Emeott Sr. at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Saginaw on June 26, 1954; he predeceased her on April 27, 2021.  After their eight children were all enrolled in school, Janet was employed as a school bus driver for Swan Valley Schools.  After several years as a bus driver, she became the Transportation Director for the district.  She was employed with the district for 26 years before her retirement.  She supported her husband, Don’s business, serving as his secretary and bookkeeper. She also supported her husband’s involvement in the multiple community activities in which he was involved.  Janet was a faithful member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church where she often donated her baking/cooking talents for funerals and other activities.  While raising their children she enjoyed cooking, baking and canning.  Camping was a favorite family past time as the children were growing up. Janet and Don continued traveling and camping as late as 2019 before Don’s passing.  Janet loved visiting various casinos with Don, her sisters and her children whenever she had the chance.

Surviving are: five daughters and two sons:  Donna (John) Bohlinger of Bay City; Don (Jill “BC”) Emeott Jr., of Bay City; JoAnn Nordstrom of Caro; Dennis (Diane) Emeott of Saline; Denise (Ron) Wetherbee of Saginaw; Judy (George) Burkett of Rock Hill, SC; Jill (Michael) Shelden of Freeland; one daughter-in-law, Christine Emeott; 20 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Emeott; a son, Jerry Emeott; grandson, Matthew Bohlinger; son-in-law, Erlind Nordstrom; 4 sisters and 5 brothers.
