Heidger, James L. Saginaw, Michigan Passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Cartwright Care Center at the age of 80 years. The son of the late Norman and Anita (Uphoff) Heidger was born on January 21, 1933 in Saginaw. James married Sally Balcom on August 15, 1953; she survives him. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from General Motors in 1988 after 26 years of service. He was a member of Second Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the American Legion Post 439 and a past member of the Germania Club. James enjoyed pheasant hunting, golf, and spending time with his family. Surviving besides his wife, Sally, are their children; James Heidger, Thomas (Kathy) Heidger, Steven (Zelda) Heidger, grandchildren; Nikolaus Heidger, Matthew Aven, Joseph Aven, Andrew Heidger, Jeanette Mack and Keoni Heidger, and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a grandson, Thomas Heidger Jr. and great-granddaughter Ava Heidger and a sister Susie Heidger. Funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, September 1, 2013 at Second Presbyterian Church, 2665 Midland Rd. Rev. James Neumann will officiate. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday at W. L. Case and Company, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. from 2:00p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and on Sunday at church from 12:00 noon until the time of the service.
