James Haven

James Haven Hemlock, Michigan Passed away November 28, 2019, at Ascension St. Marys, Saginaw. Age 79 years. The son of the late Liguori (Mahoney) and William Haven was born February 27, 1940 in Saginaw, Michigan. His wife, Shirley (Snyder) met in grade school. They were married in 1958. His wife of 61 years and their two children, Bill and Suzanne, survives him. James was employed by General Motors, Saginaw Steering Gear, retiring in 1989 with 30 years of service. He was a member of St. John XXIII, St. Marys of Hemlock Church. James and Shirley resided in Hemlock but have seasonal spots they enjoyed together. Summer months were spent at AuGres, MI. for 35+ years. There they fished daily on their boat and enjoyed many campfires and dinners with friends. Winter months were enjoyed at the home in Florida for 25 + years. They enjoyed traveling on Cruises together with family and friends. They enjoyed 38 cruises together. James enjoyed fishing as well as being a member of the AuGres Cruisers Car Club. Surviving are his wife, Shirley, a son and daughter-in-law, William and Kimberly Haven; a daughter, Suzanne Haven; two granddaughters and their husbands, Heidi and Jason Kain; Staci and J.J. Clay; two great grandchildren, Garrett and Jace Kain; a great granddaughter, due in April; two brothers, two sisters, Daniel and Dorothy Haven; Thomas Haven; Liguori (Babe) Moss; Helen Laurenz; two sisters-in-law, Leila Kreager; Norma and Jack Walker; many nieces and nephews. Two sisters and two brothers, Alice Osellame, Ilean Petre, William (Joseph) Haven and Leo Haven; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Marvel and Victor Snyder, have predeceased him. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 7, 2019 at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. Rev. Michael Steltenkamp S.J. will officiate. Friends may visit with family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service.
