The son of the late Wilson C. and Evelyn C. (Noyes) Brown, James was born on July 11, 1944, in Saginaw, Michigan. James married the love of his life, Shirley Jean Becker, on June 25, 1966. They shared many wonderful years together. She preceded him in death on April 29, 2025. James retired from General Motors after many years of loyal and dedicated service. He was a member of Bridgeport Community Church and Masonic Lodge. James enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially with his brother. Surviving are his daughters, Mary (Larry) Carter, Julie Brown; grandchildren, Eric Carter, James Carter, Cory Carter, Avery Carlton, Matthew Carlton; sisters, Jan Brown, Cathy Zaremba. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Besides his wife and his parents, James was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Robert S. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Wellspring Lutheran Services for their kind and compassionate care of James.
