Jacob Carter

November 9, 1943 — July 5, 2023

Jacob Carter

Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved husband and father was lifted into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, July 5, 2023. He was born on November 9, 1943, the son of the late Rev. Williams and Nancy (Hutto) Carter in N.C. moving to Florida as a young man. Jacob was a beloved husband and father, a respectable business man, and a devoted Christian. He was a longtime business owner of Carters Irrigation in Florida, and Carters Painting in Michigan. Jacob had an exceptional work ethic. He instilled education and that work ethic in his children. Jacob’s Christian faith was an essential part of his life. He enjoyed traveling up north, dining outside at the Cove in the Leelanau, fabulous trips to Florida, also had many trips to Detroit, where he was treated like a king as he was the best chef at the family barbeques.

If you knew Jacob, you knew what a kind, hardworking, caring and compassionate person he was.  Growing up, he always taught us and showed us by countless examples to help others when you are presented with the opportunity, be kind to people because you don’t know what kind of battles they are facing, and to work hard no matter the circumstance or situation you are presented with in order to take care of your family. I could write this to be an hour long read, explaining how much he meant to me, my brother, and my mom, but he wouldn’t want that. Jacob would want you to enjoy your day and put a smile on your face to keep you positive and remind you that kind and caring people still exist without expecting anything in return. We will always love and miss you with all our hearts.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Deborah Carter; sons: Joel Carter, Erik (Emmy) Carter, Sydni Carter; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Honoring Jacob’s wishes, a private funeral service has taken place. Rev. William W. Hessler officiated with entombment at Oakwood Memorial Mausoleum. Please share your thoughts and memories with the family at www.casefuneralhome.com.
