Jack L. Dean

Jack L. Dean, age 94, of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023. Jack was born in Peck, Michigan on July 14, 1929, the son of the late John Dean and Mary Brown Dean. He graduated from Bay City Central High School. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War, serving as a medic. He was united in marriage with Deloris Koviak on October 10, 1953. Deloris preceded him in death on October 26, 2019. He retired from Baker Perkins after over twenty years of service. Jack was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing fastpitch softball and played for various teams in Bay City. He was an avid bowler and golfer and played on many leagues. He enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions.

Jack is survived by his children, David (Gloria) Dean, Mark Dean, and Philip (Kristine) Dean; three grandchildren, Graham (Shawna) Dean, Keaton Dean, and Amanda Dean; two great-grandchildren, Sofia, and Cade Dean; one brother, William Dean; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters, Jay Dean, Lenora Meyer, Thelma Burke.

Friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. on Friday, November 10, 2023, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N River Rd, Saginaw, MI 48609. Following the visitation at the church, a Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. with Rev. Peter Gaspeny officiating. Cremation will follow the Mass.
