Kern, Irene M. Saginaw, MI Loving wife, mother, and grandmother passed away on Friday, March 6, 2015 at the age of 91 years. The daughter of the late Andrew and Margaret (Skelny) Bloniarczyk was born on July 7, 1923 in St. Charles, MI. She married Martin H. Kern on August 4, 1951; he survives her. She retired as a teaching assistant from Jerome Elementary School in 1989. Irene was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and enjoyed, gardening, canning and taking care of her family. Surviving besides her husband of 63 years, Martin are their children: Thomas M. Kern, Jeffrey (Janis) Kern, grandchildren: Andrew (Mandi) Kern, Alex Kern, Max Kern, Holly (Justin) Carrier, Michael Kern, Allison Kern, great-grandchildren: Justin, Jack, Jacob and Jason Carrier, her brothers: Leonard Bloniarczyk, William (Jean) Bloniarczyk, Robert (Vi) Bloniarczyk and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. Irene was predeceased by a daughter-in-law Michelle Kern, brothers Walter Bloniarczyk, Frank Bloniarczyk and sisters Stella Dague, Sophie Nerchyl. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2015 at the W. L. Case and Company, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. Paul Hinz will officiate with entombment at Oakwood Mausoleum. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday at the funeral chapel from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
