We are heartbroken to announce the death of our father, Howard Theodore Hamann. He passed away peacefully at the age of 100 surround by his loving family. He was born April 18, 1922 and died on October 10, 2022.
As a young man, he proudly served our country, in the Army during WWII. He married Anna Mae Gavit, and they settled in Bridgeport, MI. Howard and Anna Mae devoted their lives to their 6 children, 15 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Howard is survived by his children: William and Monica Hamann of Midland; Art and Barb Hamann of Kissimmee, FL; Joe and Mari Hamann of Auburn; Mary and Mike Hrinik of Mesquite, NV; Howard and Wendy Hamann of AuGres; and Theresa and Steve Dennings of Frankenmuth; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at St. Francis de Salles Parish; St. Christopher Catholic Church, 3945 Williamson Road, Saginaw, Michigan, 48601. Howard's nephew, Rev. Fr. Steven M. Gavit will officiate. Rite of Committal and Military Honors will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery under the auspices of the United States Army and American Legion Post #439. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Catholic Diocese of Saginaw.
