Hope Seegobin, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024. She was born in Montrose, Colorado on August 10, 1963, to the late Hilario Martinez and Elma (Garcia) Martinez.
Hope was a dedicated social worker for the State of Michigan for over 20 years, touching the lives of many with her compassion and kindness. She belonged to St. John XXIII Parish, Sacred Heart Church. She was a member of the Lions Club in Merrill. She was an active volunteer for the Midland Center for the Arts and the Dow Diamond.
Hope was a beloved wife to Sherlock Seegobin, who preceded her in death on May 19, 2018. Hope is survived by her siblings Tom (Vicki) Martinez, Regina Chayer, Rick (Nina) Martinez, Ann Clay, Nancy (Don) Smith, Daniel (Katy) Martinez, and Mary Lou (Cleveland) Jones; her mother-in-law Hazel Seegobin; nieces and nephews Cleveland Jones Jr., Jeremy (Amie) Jones, Cameron (Erika) Jones, Maria Martinez, and Jared Martinez; her great-niece Swayze Jones; and her best friend Teresa DeVault. Hope also leaves behind her beloved cats Kitty, Keewee, and Oliver.
Hope's dedication to helping others and her warm personality have left an indelible mark on the hearts of those she touched throughout her life. Her legacy of compassion and empathy will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and care that will forever be remembered by all who knew her.
Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at St. John XXIII Parish, Sacred Heart Church, 445 S Midland St, Merrill, MI 48637, where the Funeral Liturgy will follow at 11:00 a.m. Rev.
