Helen Villareal

Our Heavenly Father has taken our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother to be with the Lord of July 19, 2021. She was 88 years old.

Helen was born November 21, 1932, in Somerville, Texas to the late Jose Maria and Felesita (Hernandez) Villareal. She married John H. Villareal Sr.; he predeceased her on April 21, 2012. Helen was the Manager/Co-Owner of El Pato Grocery for numerous years. She loved cooking, making tamales, gardening, going to garage sales, bingo and spending time with her family. Helen was of the Catholic Faith and attended St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.

She will be greatly missed by her children: Mary Ann (Carlos) Benavides, the late Bonifacio (Wendy) Villareal, the late Margret Villareal, Nancy (Jose Guadalupe) Perez, Simona (Remedios) Orsonio, Beatrice Villareal, the late John (Kathy) Villareal Jr., Frank (Paula) Villareal, the late Tony (Shari) Villareal and Rose Corr; 31 grandchildren, including four special grandchildren: Teresa (Freddie G.) Benavides, Richard Benavides, Mario (Joaquina) Benavides and Jack J. (DeLauren) Villareal; 74 great-grandchildren, 26 great-great grandchildren, special nephew and niece, Jesus and Liz Villareal, as well as many additional relatives.

Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, July 23, 2021, at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, St. Anthony of Padua Church, 3680 S. Washington Road, Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Gerry Pehler will officiate with private burial in Oakwood Cemetery to follow. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00-8:00 pm on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at W. L. Case and Company, 4480 Mackinaw Road, Saginaw, as well as on Friday at church from 10:00 am until the time of Mass.
