Helen L. Clapp Richland, Twp., Michigan Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, April 13, 2017, at the age of 95 years. Helen was born December 23, 1921, in Fremont Township to the late Fred and Hattie (Wenzel) Smith. She married Lawrence Clapp on February 19, 1941; he predeceased her in 1969. She enjoyed family get-togethers, dancing, her kitties, travelling, polka music, and gardening especially her flowers. She will be missed by her children Joyce Ehrhardt, David Clapp, Ronald Clapp, Diane Ewald, Bonnie Krape, and Danny Clapp; grandchildren, Chris Combs, Jamie (Connie Heavenrich) Combs, David (Amy) Krape, Jason (Sue) Ewald, Brian (MaryLynn) Ewald, Chad (Alex Clayson) Ewald; 9 great-grandchildren; and sister, Ann Drbul. She was predeceased by her son, Wayne Clapp; sons-in-law, Ron Ehrhardt, William Ewald, and Harry Krape; granddaughter, Tammy Ewald; and siblings, Dorothy Clapp, Linda Wade, and Alfred Smith; and companion, Frank Vedrode. The family would like to thank the staff of St. Francis Home for all the wonderful care they provided to Helen. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at W.L. Case & Company 201 N. Miller Rd. Rev. Bill Bodnar will officiate with burial later in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Breckenridge. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
