Beloved sister, aunt, cousin, and friend passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Masonic Pathways in Alma at the age of 81 years.

The daughter of the late Ralph and Eva (Power) Thomas was born on August 28, 1941 in Lansing, Michigan. She married the love of her life, Glenn Roy Rodgers on December 31, 1966; he preceded her in death on March 26, 2021. Hazel was a “light” in her community, serving as a clerk, her big smile, and warm laugh welcomed many. She loved to worship Jesus at Masonic Pathways Church. Hazel enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers, and Lions. Her and Glenn always cared for chickens, pigs, and cows at their home in Michigan. Hazel loved to entertain her loved ones with board games, and popcorn. The card table always had a new working puzzle that she was conquering. Above all, Hazel cherished her beloved family, and friends; especially her many dogs.

Surviving is her sister: Helen Daley, Ithaca; her beloved dog: Sassy; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends. Besides her parents and husband; she was preceded in death by her “third love”, Elvis Presley.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Careline Hospice for their kind and compassionate care at the end of her life; and Masonic Pathways of Alma for their love and excellent care of her and her husband over the years. The family would also like to thank the Laurels of Mt. Pleasant for their wholehearted care of Hazel, especially during her transition from Florida to Michigan.

Her committal service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 3, 2023 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Rd., Holly, Michigan 48442. Please share your thoughts and memories with the family at the cemetery or through www.casefuneralhome.com.
